Student teams pitch original startup concepts to industry judges with Q&A and a grand final round.

About This Event

A startup pitching contest where student teams present an original business concept to a panel of industry judges. The competition develops entrepreneurial thinking, presentation skills, and the ability to defend an idea under questioning.

Event Format

Teams submit a brief concept abstract during registration. On the event day, the preliminary round consists of a five-minute pitch and three-minute Q&A before a panel of judges. The top eight teams advance to the final round with an extended pitch before a senior panel.

Eligibility

Students of Classes 11 and 12 in teams of two to three members.

Rules & Guidelines

  • Business concepts must be original work of the presenting team.
  • Preliminary pitch: 5 minutes; Q&A: 3 minutes.
  • Final round timings and format will be shared at briefing.
  • Slides or props only as permitted in the event guide.

Judging Criteria

  • Innovation and feasibility of the idea
  • Clarity and persuasiveness of the pitch
  • Responses during Q&A
  • Team cohesion and presentation

Awards & Recognition

  • Winning team and runners-up
  • Best pitch delivery / best concept (as announced)
