About This Event

Youth Parliament is a simulation of the Indian Parliament conducted in a bilingual format, allowing students to engage with the legislative process. Participants take on roles of parliamentarians from across the political spectrum, debating contemporary national issues through structured parliamentary procedure including question hour, zero hour, and bill discussions.

Event Format

Sessions run across morning and afternoon on both days. The chamber follows Indian parliamentary procedure with bilingual participation (Hindi and English) as appropriate to the flow of debate.

Eligibility

Open to students of Classes 11 and 12.

Rules & Guidelines

  • Participants must maintain parliamentary decorum at all times.
  • Speaking time limits will be enforced by the Speaker panel.
  • Bills and questions must be submitted as per the briefing schedule.

Judging Criteria

  • Command of parliamentary procedure
  • Quality of argument and research
  • Clarity of expression in either or both languages
  • Engagement across question hour and legislative business
